Last week in Long beach, 750 people came together in support of breastfeeding at Latch & Link Long beach.
408 adults and 342 kids!
That's 268 mothers, 115 fathers, 190 infants, 152 children, and 25 support people!
Their goal was to help bring support to breastfeeding mothers and babies.
At 11am, as part of The Big Latch-On, 162 babies at this location latched on and nursed from their mamas!
Throughout the day I had the honor of photographing 111 of these mamas!
I am truly honored that these mothers sat in front of my camera. By doing so, we are helping normalize what feeding a baby looks like for many moms!

Mommy & Me - Los Angeles Baby Photography
Kai and his mommy invited me to their highrise home for a mommy and me shoot. High above L.A. in their beautiful bedroom we attempted to get Kai to nurse, Kai had other plans! He was so interested in my camera and what I was doing in his room that he wasn't interested in his mama's milk. We were able to get a few nursing shots but we made the best of it and took the opportunity to get some sweet photos of him and his mama together.
Beautiful view, adorable bedroom, gorgeous mama and super cute baby...
Lately I have been checking out the book shelves in the homes I visit. I love to see the contrast between pre-baby and post-baby books. I have never been a fan of the saying "a baby changes everything" but they sure do change your book shelf!

Mother And Baby - LA breastfeeding Photographer
Miss Ruby stole my heart the minute I walked into her home. She was so smooshy and clearly so connected with her mama. It was so sweet watching her and her mother interact. So much l0ve.
Ruby with her little curls smoothy legs, adorable diaper cover! (I'm a suckers for cute cloth diapers!)
At the end of her shoot I reached out to Ruby (because who could resist shoomshing on this baby?) and she came right to me! We cuddled a for a minute before she went back for some more mama's milk!
Thank you sweet baby for the cuddles and thank you mama for making such cuddly babies!

Sweet Santa Monica Family- LA Breastfeeding Photography
Something about this beautiful mom just brightens my day. She looks like a fairy. A nursing in the park fairy. Yeah those are real! Nursing in the park fairies! Her sweet little baby nursing and then lovingly looking up at his mama. You can just see the love she has for him with that look of mommy bliss on her face. Thank you SuAnn for sharing a bit of your family with me.

I was invited into little Miss Quincy's home to photograph her and her mother. Their living room was filled with bright colors and vintage furniture.
Quincy was full of smiles and very interested in me and my camera. So much that she was more interested in me than the thing I was there to photographer her doing... Nursing!
She would latch on then let go and look back at me.. latch on then let go and look back at me....
We were able to get a few nursing shots in but took the rest of the time getting some solo shots and a few of her just love'n on her mama.
Her mom told me after her shoot, when they went to lay down and nurse, Quincy was still looking for me and my camera! :::heart melts:::

This spring like weather we have had this week in Los Angeles has me itching for spring like photo sessions like this one. This sweet West Hollywood family welcomed me to their beautiful home for a photoshoot in their lush garden. It was a lovely afternoon with lots of giggles. Now is the prefect time to start planning and booking your family photos for spring. With highs in the low 80's its not to early for bare feet and spring dresses!
