Banksy Balloon Girl Street art is part of city life. I love watching my regular drives transform even without structural changes. It makes me think, creates interesting conversation sometimes just confuses me... Either way, I love it.My all time favorite piece is Banksy's balloon girl. It has always reminded me of my daughter. Her hair blowing in the wind, little dress over jeans.. I see innocence, I see loss, I see hope, I see myself... Let Go. I have had this shot in my mind for a few weeks. Last night my husband, daughter and I went for it! We hike as high as we could over Griffith Park and set up this Banksy inspired shot of my 5 year old Kara Justice. Kara Ballerina - Sophie Dance Recital

Sunday was a long awaited day for my 4 year old daughter Kara. She spent months preparing for her first dance recital with Sophie Dance. Every week she wore her blue dance outfit among a class of pink tutus. She danced around our house teaching her brothers dance moves. She would ask daily if it was finally the big day and it would break our hearts to tell her "not yet." Finally.... The big day came and our little Tinker Bell danced her heart out on the big stage at the Wilshire Ebell Theartre. She was brave and beautiful and man did she nail that Arabesque! :)

Stepping into this families home is like stepping into a fairy tale. I have been photographing them regularly since Theo, now 5, was 2 or 3 months old. Each time I am welcomed into a new world of magic and I have been photographing them regularly since Theo, now 5, was 2 or 3 months old. Each time I am welcomed into a new world of magic and make believe. Their creativity and playfulness pull me in. It is impossible to spend a few hours with these kids and not become wrapped up in their pretend world of space travel or alternative realities where their pets have different names. Excited to share a tiny bit of their beautiful world of childhood with you.
