First dance class of the new year and Kara was looking festive in her new furry hooded jacket, ‘Shake it off’ leotard and rain boots!

During our vacation we headed to Tahoe City for a day. We spent the day with family, walked at the beach and played at the park. It was a chilly but beautiful day. We had been hoping for a little snow for the kids to play in but there was only a dusting up at the peeks that day. Hoping this big storm this week brings the Seirra's lots and lots of snow that will stay long into the spring! Not sure if these two had ever been in 30 degree temps before. If running around at the park didn't warm them up these hot chocolates from Rosie's Cafe sure did!

Last week a friend showed me some super hero inspired shots of a toddler boy around my sons age. I thought right away I NEED these of my son.. so today I cleared out the space to shoot.. dug out the cape... found matching under roos and my son wanted NOTHING to do with me, my capes or my camera... It was time for plan B! Wrangled up my daughter (wasn't going to waste the freshly cleared area) haha and took these. Authentic smile courtesy of my husband making fake farting noises in the background!

Banksy Balloon Girl Street art is part of city life. I love watching my regular drives transform even without structural changes. It makes me think, creates interesting conversation sometimes just confuses me... Either way, I love it.My all time favorite piece is Banksy's balloon girl. It has always reminded me of my daughter. Her hair blowing in the wind, little dress over jeans.. I see innocence, I see loss, I see hope, I see myself... Let Go. I have had this shot in my mind for a few weeks. Last night my husband, daughter and I went for it! We hike as high as we could over Griffith Park and set up this Banksy inspired shot of my 5 year old Kara Justice.
