First dance class of the new year and Kara was looking festive in her new furry hooded jacket, ‘Shake it off’ leotard and rain boots!

Kara Ballerina - Sophie Dance Recital

Sunday was a long awaited day for my 4 year old daughter Kara. She spent months preparing for her first dance recital with Sophie Dance. Every week she wore her blue dance outfit among a class of pink tutus. She danced around our house teaching her brothers dance moves. She would ask daily if it was finally the big day and it would break our hearts to tell her "not yet." Finally.... The big day came and our little Tinker Bell danced her heart out on the big stage at the Wilshire Ebell Theartre. She was brave and beautiful and man did she nail that Arabesque! :)

When my youngest son, Lex, started asking to be Robin for Halloween months ago I knew I had my work cut out for me. I am not great at sewing but I knew my husband wasn't going to settle for his son in a flimsy store bought Robin and of course my son had a specific Robin in mind. Damian Wayne the son of Batman! So I spent most of my free time the last few weeks hand sewing this together! I gotta say I am pretty proud of it! This morning Lex and I headed to a parking garage for a Gotham inspired look! Bet you didn't know that Robin wears Captain America shoes did ya?
