In early March, I traveled to Chicago, Illinois. My sweet friend Melissa, and her family welcomed me into their home and showed me around the city. Melissa and I have been internet friends since we were pregnant with our oldest daughters. Despite our 8 years of 'friendship,' this was our first time meeting and from the moment I arrived, I was treated like family. I was treated to deep dish pizza and craft beer, amazing homemade vegetarian meals, hot coffee on snowy mornings and brisk afternoon snowy walks, Chicago style hot dogs and smooshy baby cuddles! Obviously, I needed to return their over the top hospitality with pictures of their sweet family! Thank you, Melissa and Tony for the home away from home! Foot tall snowman I made so I could send pics of it home to my kids! And an Instagram I took of Melissa while there. I was seriously blown away by this woman. I am truly inspired by this woman and so grateful to call her my friend. I need to up my mom game. Melissa wins all the mothering awards. Seriously amazed at how awesome she is! I spent the last two months shooting and editing for all my beautiful clients holiday cards and totally forgot about my own! So THIS is my holiday card! 2013 was a crazy for my family and business. My husband graduated from The Los Angeles Film School as Valedictorian with honors in the spring. My kids started school for the first time ever! I met and photographed so many beautiful families as well as many past clients! (thank you all!) Now that many of those big changes 2013 brought are out of the way, we are ready to settle into the new year. My husband just started a new job in the film industry. #livingtheLAdream right? hehe I am launching my new boudoir site and and booking for Valentine's shoots NOW! My kids are making many new friends, Kara is just the cutest little dancer at Sophies. So we say BRING IT 2014! We are ready for all the awesome you have in store for our family! And now for my official digital Christmas card.... So next time you give me that look like "So sorry my kids are goofing off" during your shoot, trust me I don't mind, my kids do it too! I want to thank you all for believing in me and trusting me with documenting so many precious moments! I can't wait to capture many more! I wish you all an magical holiday and blessed New Year! xoxo
Moment Of Motherhood- Los Angeles Nursing Photography

This session is from last years National Breastfeeding Month sale. Her photos can be seen on my main page but I just noticed I hadn't blogged them yet. This mama radiated motherhood at her session with me. Her gentle parenting (and perfect livingroom window light) quickly became the highlight of our session when Westley was more interested in checking me out than nursing. The thing I love about nursing sessions is they are so much more than pictures of a baby at the breast. They show a bond and connection between a mother and her child. Older nurslings are often distracted by my camera at nursing sessions but I take my time and photograph them playing and cuddling with their mothers as well as nursing.
