Here is my top 10 personal photos I took this year! Some candid, some I put more thought and planning into and some that were planned and didn't turn out like I had envisioned yet I love just the same! I am so excited to watch how my babies grow and change in the next year and plan on capturing it all!
My 2013 personal favs!
Our home. This little space was meant to be our home for 18 months. 18 months turned into 4 years when we decided to stay in L.A. for second round at the L.A. Film School. We are in our last few months in this home and I am so grateful I took this imperfectly perfect shot from our life.
Walking in on my 4 year old doing a little light reading...
Fifth birthday shoot ♥ This photo is now my business card and Kara proudly hands them out to people she likes in public haha
Lex's 3rd birthday shoot. This was a shoot photographers nightmares are made of. I picked the perfect time of day. Lex was well rested and seemingly in a good mood. I dressed him in a shirt he loves and headed outside. He, in all his 3 year old glory, wanted NOTHING to do with taking pictures. I was so frustrated as I really was excited to have some 1:1 shooting time with him like (as you can see) I get with Kara so often. After a short time I gave up. I walked back to the house sure that I had got nothing from our short trip of chasing and bribing.. then I opened up the pictures on my computer and fell in love.
Sand behind her ears ♥
This. Oh how he loves her.

What may be my favorite photo I took ALL year. My Banksy balloon girl.

As I am wrapping up my sessions from 2013 I am so thankful for all the beautiful opportunities I had with my clients families. Choosing my 10 favorite images from the year wasn't easy. I chose these images for the emotions I feel when I look at them. I feel so blessed that these families chose me to share part of their life with them. Some for only and hour or two with their future baby, their newborn or their toddler. Others I spent days with patiently waiting to photograph their baby coming Eartside. Each time I felt like family as your welcomed me into your homes, let me swaddle up your newborn and trusted me enough to be at your birth. Thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart. These images are in no order as I can not pick a favorite. Also there are many many more I would have added but a "top 100" seemed a bit excessive!
This moment candid moment at a nursing session.
These two mamas waiting for their son.
This angelic mama with her newborn.
This smooshy baby girl ♥
My adorable friends in a field hehe
Soren's backyard garden birth!!
Runner, cautiously allowing me to take his picture.
Dana glowing on the beach in Santa Monica.
Nursing in labor. This. THIS. This moment. Is why you must hire a birth photographer!!
And this. ♥

I spent the last two months shooting and editing for all my beautiful clients holiday cards and totally forgot about my own! So THIS is my holiday card!
2013 was a crazy for my family and business.
My husband graduated from The Los Angeles Film School as Valedictorian with honors in the spring. My kids started school for the first time ever! I met and photographed so many beautiful families as well as many past clients! (thank you all!)
Now that many of those big changes 2013 brought are out of the way, we are ready to settle into the new year. My husband just started a new job in the film industry. #livingtheLAdream right? hehe I am launching my new boudoir site and and booking for Valentine's shoots NOW! My kids are making many new friends, Kara is just the cutest little dancer at Sophies. So we say BRING IT 2014! We are ready for all the awesome you have in store for our family!
And now for my official digital Christmas card.... So next time you give me that look like "So sorry my kids are goofing off" during your shoot, trust me I don't mind, my kids do it too!
I want to thank you all for believing in me and trusting me with documenting so many precious moments! I can't wait to capture many more! I wish you all an magical holiday and blessed New Year!

Over Thanksgiving vacation my family headed north to our hometown to be with family and friends. I don't mind working on vacation when "work" looks like this!
This shoot was shot on my friends farm in my hometown of Vacaville. When I arrived I was greeted with a glass of white wine and this gorgeous sunset! Mid shoot we were visited by a horse and a goat and we wrapped up with a dinner at my favorite restaurant will many friends.
It was so wonderful to capture this for your family this year Lindsey ♥

Little Miss Kara Justice, named after Super Girl and the Justice League, in her Green Lantern costume this Halloween.
In brightest day, in blackest night,
No evil shall escape my sight.
Let those who worship evil's might,
Beware my power, Green Lantern's light!!!
