10 Favorite Client Images of 2013 -Los Angeles Chrildren's Photographer
As I am wrapping up my sessions from 2013 I am so thankful for all the beautiful opportunities I had with my clients families. Choosing my 10 favorite images from the year wasn’t easy. I chose these images for the emotions I feel when I look at them. I feel so blessed that these families chose me to share part of their life with them. Some for only and hour or two with their future baby, their newborn or their toddler. Others I spent days with patiently waiting to photograph their baby coming Eartside. Each time I felt like family as your welcomed me into your homes, let me swaddle up your newborn and trusted me enough to be at your birth. Thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart. These images are in no order as I can not pick a favorite. Also there are many many more I would have added but a “top 100” seemed a bit excessive!
This moment candid moment at a nursing session.
These two mamas waiting for their son.
This angelic mama with her newborn.
This smooshy baby girl ♥
My adorable friends in a field hehe
Soren’s backyard garden birth!!

Vacaville Family Photography -Los Angeles Photographer
Over Thanksgiving vacation my family headed north to our hometown to be with family and friends. I don’t mind working on vacation when “work” looks like this!
This shoot was shot on my friends farm in my hometown of Vacaville. When I arrived I was greeted with a glass of white wine and this gorgeous sunset! Mid shoot we were visited by a horse and a goat and we wrapped up with a dinner at my favorite restaurant will many friends.
It was so wonderful to capture this for your family this year Lindsey ♥

No evil shall escape my sight.
Let those who worship evil’s might,
Beware my power, Green Lantern’s light!!!

Fall Family Photos- Los Angeles Family photographer
These kids may be my most photographed kids, my own excluded. Their mother Margaret was one of my first friends here in Los Angeles. We met at a quilting club. My son Lex was about 2 months old, her son Runner just a few weeks. After a minute of talking we found we had much in common. Both having just had a homebirth = instant friends. haha A short time later she invited me to attend the homebirth of her second son Emerson. After a few years, many play dates, a few photoshoots, and a birth.. I present you with their latest family photos! Thank you my sweet friend for trusting me with capturing your family so often!

Magical Birthing Garden- Hollywood Homebirth Photography
The moment I met these two moms I instantly fell in love. Their home, their yard, their story, their overflowing love for each other. Soft spoken, gentle and kind. I wrote a little about that first meeting HERE. That is where you will also find their maternity photos.
When I arrived for the birth, I walked into their home and it was empty. I looked around to find everyone was in the back yard garden. Jody was quietly laboring on a birthing ball, her wife by her side. Her midwife and doula close by looked up at me with calming smiles while Hypnobabies played in the background.
I had just walked into a magical birthing garden. :::swoon:::
I am so honored to have been invited to welcome baby Soren into the world. I have been to many births, never before have I been so emotional at a birth. I teared up more times than I can remember and was in full on tears at times, overjoyed with all the beauty and love. I can not wait to watch this family grow and take many more photos of their life.
This birth was also attended by Becca Gorden of Two Doulas Birth, Sue Wolcott of Shasta Midvies, and Abigail Morgan of Float Chinese Medical Arts

Pasadena Family Photographer
I met this family last year at their beautiful Pasadena home. In their yard with tomatoes growing and cloth diaper hung on the line to dry… The sun light shining through their blond hair and their happy babies and DOG made for the perfect family photos! The family dog… such a giant love! He let the kids crawl, climb and even sit on him without any fuss. He would just give me this look like… “yeah.. I don’t mind.”

So Much Love- Hollywood Maternity Photography
While I patiently wait for the birth of these two mamas baby, I have been busy working on their maternity photos. It was hard to not just share everyone from their shoot. These photos were shot simply in the yard filled with life and their room filled with books where they will welcome their baby Earthside any day now. The love and gentleness these two had for each other was so beautiful to witness. I can not wait to attend their home birth and do their newborn photos in the upcoming weeks.

Homemade Pumpkin Latte
It can be hard to get in the “fall” mood here in Los Angeles. The weather is so warm. The trees don’t change much and often don’t change til later in the winter. The internet keeps reminding me though, that it is in fact FALL. With my new feeds full of all of my friends pinning and posting pumpkin muffins and cakes and lattes its hard to not want to indulge. I always click on the latte link, (cause doesn’t a pumpkin latte sound wonderful?) only to find that the directions always have way to many steps. I do not want to bust out the immersion blender (HA if I owned one) at 6 am when I make my latte. So I thought I would try a simplified dairy and sugar free version (that won’t wake up everyone in my tower at 6 am) and it came out pretty tasty!
You need:
Canned Pumpkin
Pumpkin Pie Spice
Canned Coconut Milk
Espresso
Take a spoonful of pumpkin and some shakes of pumpkin pie spice and set aside in a bowl.
Make your espresso (I use the double cup)
Pour the espresso into the bowl with the pumpkin and wisk it up!
Pour the wisked up pumpkin espresso into a cup.
Froth up your coconut milk.
Pour your frothy goodness over your espresso
Attempt seasonal latte art. #latteartfail
Enjoy.

Mommy & Me - Los Angeles Baby Photography
Mommy & Me – Los Angeles Baby Photography
Kai and his mommy invited me to their highrise home for a mommy and me shoot. High above L.A. in their beautiful bedroom we attempted to get Kai to nurse, Kai had other plans! He was so interested in my camera and what I was doing in his room that he wasn’t interested in his mama’s milk. We were able to get a few nursing shots but we made the best of it and took the opportunity to get some sweet photos of him and his mama together.
Beautiful view, adorable bedroom, gorgeous mama and super cute baby…
Lately I have been checking out the book shelves in the homes I visit. I love to see the contrast between pre-baby and post-baby books. I have never been a fan of the saying “a baby changes everything” but they sure do change your book shelf!

Miss Ruby stole my heart the minute I walked into her home. She was so smooshy and clearly so connected with her mama. It was so sweet watching her and her mother interact. So much l0ve.
Ruby with her little curls smoothy legs, adorable diaper cover! (I’m a suckers for cute cloth diapers!)
At the end of her shoot I reached out to Ruby (because who could resist shoomshing on this baby?) and she came right to me! We cuddled a for a minute before she went back for some more mama’s milk!
Thank you sweet baby for the cuddles and thank you mama for making such cuddly babies!

Sweet Santa Monica Family- LA Breastfeeding Photography
Something about this beautiful mom just brightens my day. She looks like a fairy. A nursing in the park fairy. Yeah those are real! Nursing in the park fairies! Her sweet little baby nursing and then lovingly looking up at his mama. You can just see the love she has for him with that look of mommy bliss on her face. Thank you SuAnn for sharing a bit of your family with me.
